Anchor yourself to happiness with Safe Harbor Counseling.
I just want to take a quick moment to shared why I chose this name. The name is how I have always thought of mental health treatment. A safe and secure haven to talk about how you truly feel. The world is full of judgement and this harbor is a safe place for you to express yourself. I have a saying about life, I live by, "life comes and goes in waves." Some moments are beautiful and because your here looking at my page, right now you are struggling with the lows of the wave. This storm too will pass but with counseling you don't have to shoulder the storm alone.
I have 8-9 years experience with a big organization in the Appleton Area. During my time there, I heavily focused and created material for chronic pain management skills and they still use the material. I have treated patients in a primary care physicians office along with inpatient and outpatient treatment. I have numerous hours at conducting group therapy ranging from Anxiety/Social Phobia to a COVID Anxiety Group. I have experience working with a variety of diagnosis's from Generalized Anxiety disorders to Schizophrenia. My specialties included chronic pain; anxiety; depression; and trauma treatment. My preferred treatment modalities include: DBT; CBT; Motivational Interviewing; EFT; ERPT; Person Centered; Gestalt Therapy; Narrative Therapy, EMDR.
WHY CHOOSE ME AS YOUR COUNSELOR?
Let me be direct. I want to be your COUNSELOR but to be the most effective, we have to connect. I am more direct with my approaches, and I will be straight with you. I often uses analogies of you being in the drivers seat while I am in the passenger seat to help you navigate where you feel you need to be. I can point out various options, but can't give you all the answers to life, just like we don't always know when a storm will finally pass. But if you give me one session, if I am not the right fit for you, I will help you find a counselor who is a better fit your needs. I will do this because I myself have weathered a storm and it can be very lonely as we go through these storms but it is easier when you have someone going through it with you.
